2236 EDT 04-04-2006 Today, I've made one of the toughest decisions it's ever been my misfortune to have to make. I've decided to put Cheshire Grin to bed. Temporarily, for certain, but indefinitely. Just now, my schedule is too tight, my skill with pencil and paper too crappy, and my ability to update too limited to really make any other choice. I appreciate all of you who have held out this long, waiting or me to get my crap together and pull this through, but it's not happening and I have to stop littering the page with excuses and bad comics and scaring away the few people who stumble in on this thing new. And this is the best I can think of to do just now. THIS COMIC WILL BE BACK. Have no doubts on that score. Maybe I'll finally get comfortable enough with drawing to take it on myself. Maybe I'll find the discipline and humility to punch them out even if they are crappy. Maybe I'll take up the offers of a really popular blogger friend of mine to put out a call to find another artist for this. But whichever of these happens it will not happen today. It probably won't even happen soon. I would expect this hiatus to last atleast 4-6 months, honestly. But whatever happens, I *WILL* be back. This story WILL be told. Just don't hold your breathe waiting for it or you will die from asphyxiation and never get to hear it, ya know? As it stands, I'm going to leaving the archives and forums as they stand and "A Death in the Life of Ralphie" will be updated at ADILOR.Cheshire-Grin.Net. And, as time goes on, I will be making changes to the back end code of the comic as well as to the look and feel of the forums, so don't be surprised if you drop in randomly and the page looks different but this message is still standing there, ya know? It's been one hell of a run, folks, and you readers have been top-notch in my book. I'm going to miss doing this while it's gone, and if any of you decide this is just the last straw, well, then I'm going to miss you, too. I wish you nothing but the best.
